Artsprojekt.com store

by Bel Johnstone on March 10th, 2010

I’m now one of the group of selected international artists to have a store on Artsprojekt.com. After being approached a few weeks ago I’ve been busily creating to get my store up and running. When I have more time I plan on making many, many products…so stay tuned. Also if there is something of mine that you would like to see on a product please feel free to let me know :)

Tribal Theatre is going to be wonderful new addition to the Brisbane arts scene! In place of where the old Dendy theatre stood it supports emerging film makers and the arts, showing arthouse and cult movies, comedy nights, film festivals and many other community events. Opening night is the 11th of March and I’ll be showing some of my works in a mini exhibition alongside Ellen StapletonClarissa BonesNatalie Perkins and S.J. O’Connor. Please come along and show your support! RSVP is essential and tickets are limited so make sure you RSVP very soon.

by Bel Johnstone on February 23rd, 2010

Here is my interview in the January issue of  Computer Arts magazine :) I just thought I’d post up a picture while I organise a press section on my website. They wrote such a great article and I found that I was quite interested to read about myself, hehe.

New Press – Computer Arts #170

by Bel Johnstone on January 16th, 2010

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to UK based Computer Arts magazine for featuring me in their ‘Inspiration workshop’ in the January issue. Issue #170, which came out a few weeks ago internationally and is about to hit our local stores here in Australia very soon gives readers an insight into my thoughts, process and techniques. This is my first feature article and as you can imagine I’m extremely grateful for the exposure. It’s a fabulous and motivating start for the new year and I will post the actual pages into a PRESS SECTION on my website soon. Thanks again CA!

New work ‘Dreams have never made my bed’

by Bel Johnstone on December 15th, 2009

Dreamshavenevermademybed

So here is the illustration from my previous post finished. The quote is a line from ‘Seasons’ a song by Chris Cornell, my husband is a fan and well, I share a studio with him. This line really stayed with me feeding my imagination. Now that it’s finished I’m sensing a bit of a ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ influence so I must get out and see that movie. Enjoy ;)
