Memories Project

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

I’m really happy to tell you about this next project which I’ve been invited to be a part of. It’s called Memories, and it’s an art book that will be raising money for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres. Memories will look at the thoughts and experiences of individuals who have survived cancer, as well as those of people who have lost loved ones. Each story will then be accompanied by 12 illustrations by 12 different artists so 144 artworks in total. It’s going to be an amazing book! and is being launched by Designers Against Human Rights Abuse (DAHRA), Subism, OneTenEleven Media and editor Garrick Webster. I’m currently in the process of working on my illustration and will post some sneak peeks very soon.

Bye for now

Dreamshavenevermademybed

So here is the illustration from my previous post finished. The quote is a line from ‘Seasons’ a song by Chris Cornell, my husband is a fan and well, I share a studio with him. This line really stayed with me feeding my imagination. Now that it’s finished I’m sensing a bit of a ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ influence so I must get out and see that movie. Enjoy ;)

Dreams_sneakpeek

With the madness of Christmas all around and a holiday vibe in the air I’m amazed that I’m still managing to get any work done at all. Here’s a little work in progress shot of a typographic piece that I’m working on at the moment………..

brunswick_detail

I’m happy to say that I have been selected in the Brunswick station emerging artists billboard competition I mentioned previously. My original entry was hand-drawn however because it is going to be soooooooo large I have decided to rework the image digitally. Here it is… plus a detail shot.

Brunswickbillboard

Here are my entries into the ‘Brunswick train station emerging artists billboard competition’, held in Brisbane. The theme is The Valley music scene. I’ve used a new style I have recently started focusing on which essentially consists of using hand-drawn dots to create tone.
