As I mentioned in a previous post I was asked to contribute an illustration for an art book called ‘Memories’ in aid of Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres. I’m happy to say it’s finish, there was a lot of detail in this one and took me quite a few days. I’m still in shock that I will be in a book alongside some of the artists I most admire and don’t think I will believe it until I see it. The book is due to be launched within the next few months coinciding with an exhibition at Maggie’s London. Here are some sneak peeks and you can find more about the project here.

I’m really happy to tell you about this next project which I’ve been invited to be a part of. It’s called Memories, and it’s an art book that will be raising money for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres. Memories will look at the thoughts and experiences of individuals who have survived cancer, as well as those of people who have lost loved ones. Each story will then be accompanied by 12 illustrations by 12 different artists so 144 artworks in total. It’s going to be an amazing book! and is being launched by Designers Against Human Rights Abuse (DAHRA), Subism, OneTenEleven Media and editor Garrick Webster. I’m currently in the process of working on my illustration and will post some sneak peeks very soon.

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to UK based Computer Arts magazine for featuring me in their ‘Inspiration workshop’ in the January issue. Issue #170, which came out a few weeks ago internationally and is about to hit our local stores here in Australia very soon gives readers an insight into my thoughts, process and techniques. This is my first feature article and as you can imagine I’m extremely grateful for the exposure. It’s a fabulous and motivating start for the new year and I will post the actual pages into a PRESS SECTION on my website soon. Thanks again CA!

I’m very pleased to announce that I have been selected in the 2009 Communication Arts Illustration competition. My winning illustration ‘Jump’ is featured in the Illustration Annual #50 which has just been released. I’m very excited to announce that my illustration ‘Jump’ has been selected to appear in Curvy 6. Each year YEN magazine produces a book and exhibition featuring 100 of the most exciting female graphic artists and illustrators in the world. This is apparently their best year yet and with 1600 submissions I feel so excited to have been selected. I will be heading to Sydney on April 2nd for the launch. http://www.yenmag.net
